The Friends of the Hutchinson County Historical Museum is a 501c3, non-profit organization formed in 1998 for the purpose of supporting the work of the Hutchinson County Historical Museum in preserving the history of Hutchinson County and educating the citizens of the area about this history. Hutchinson County Historical Museum focuses on the farming and ranching heritage of Hutchinson County as well as the Native American and oil development histories which shaped the County.
The Friends of the Hutchinson County Historical Museum assist financially and through volunteer work in the development the Hutchinson County Historical Museum for the preservation of Hutchinson County history through gifts to establish new exhibits and by organization of events to educate the public about Hutchinson County history. Funds for these projects are acquired by donations from individuals and companies and through a partnership with the Borger City Council which appropriates a percentage of the hotel occupancy tax to further the work of the Friends of the Hutchinson County Historical Museum.
Support of the Friends of the Hutchinson County Historical Museum can be achieved through membership in Friends of the Hutchinson County Historical Museum and /or by donations to assists in historic preservation and Museum development.
Dues for membership in the Friends of the Hutchinson County Historical Museum are paid annually in January. The fee is $10 per person or $15 per couple.
Donations can be made anytime during the year and are tax deductible. Checks should be made to “Friends of the Museum” and mailed to 618 N. Main Street, Borger, Texas 79007.
